The future does not simply just arrive.

We participate in what emerges through our intention, presence and values and through our ability to work creatively and collaboratively, as well as strategically.

Leaders in all kinds of institutions face unprecedented challenges in the twenty first century: climate change, loss of biodiversity, financial and economic crises, food and water crises, concerns about how well our educational systems are working, poverty and social exclusion, conflict over strategic resources and disruptive events such as hurricanes and earthquakes.

The challenges we face are complex and interconnected and the future can be difficult to see clearly. Many people are experiencing the need to lead change and innovation within their organisations and exploring what can be achieved through coordinated responses at a broader and more systemic level. New leadership capacities are called for that move beyond quick fixes or just ‘business as usual’. We need to be able to identify underlying causes, possible futures, to explore and test effective responses, to maintain stability and innovate for the longer term and to be resilient at the personal, organisational and societal levels.

A Partnership Approach

The Generative Leadership Programme works through a mix of partnerships, collaborations and networks. I work with a number of people and organisations in the UK and internationally, for example on the co-design and facilitation of leadership development workshops and process design. Current examples include ‘Climate Leadership’, ‘the Art of Courageous Conversations’ and ‘Leading in Complex Environments’.

The Generative Leadership Programme will grow through new collaborative relationships, partnerships and projects with clients.

The Generative Leadership Programme supports and develops leadership capacities internationally and across sectors, believing that there is much to be discovered at the edge of our human potential and ability to work collectively.
